Role Description

The essential function of the position within the organization is to assist the judiciary with case management, pending litigation, processing of criminal and civil appeals, and a variety of issues. The assigned work involves considerable interpretation and judgment of legal issues in the area(s) of criminal, civil, appellate, and/or administrative law.

  • Responsible for drafting memoranda, opinions, orders, and conducting legal research
  • Review briefs and case files
  • Advise judges on pending litigation

This position works under the supervision of the Supervising Trial Court Staff Attorney.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school required
  • Five years of work experience in the practice of law or as a law clerk in an appellate or trial court

Requirements

  • Requires membership in Good Standing in the Florida Bar within one year of hire
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License required
