Job Description
Role Description
This role involves design and drafting, with a secondary emphasis on service coordination, as well as customer and market interaction.
- Use design tools and software applications to provide a variety of technical services that support the design and specification of Weyerhaeuser Structural Frame products.
- Produce comprehensive framing layouts for floor, roof and wall systems.
- Provide design calculations for single structural members.
- Provide design consultation to dealers, builders, general contractors, building inspectors, architects and engineers, sales associates and owners.
Qualifications
- 2-year technical degree OR equivalent construction industry experience
- Ability to read and comprehend Residential Wood Frame construction documents
- Microsoft Office suite knowledge – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Able and willing to reside in one of our operating locations
Requirements
- Residential wood framing construction background
- Working knowledge of CAD and/or estimating applications
- Certification in structural/architectural drafting
- Previous experience with Engineered Wood Products (i-joists, GLB’s)
- Previous Designer or Estimator experience
- Understanding of roof and floor load development
