Role Description

This role involves design and drafting, with a secondary emphasis on service coordination, as well as customer and market interaction.

  • Use design tools and software applications to provide a variety of technical services that support the design and specification of Weyerhaeuser Structural Frame products.
  • Produce comprehensive framing layouts for floor, roof and wall systems.
  • Provide design calculations for single structural members.
  • Provide design consultation to dealers, builders, general contractors, building inspectors, architects and engineers, sales associates and owners.

Qualifications

  • 2-year technical degree OR equivalent construction industry experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend Residential Wood Frame construction documents
  • Microsoft Office suite knowledge – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Able and willing to reside in one of our operating locations

Requirements

  • Residential wood framing construction background
  • Working knowledge of CAD and/or estimating applications
  • Certification in structural/architectural drafting
  • Previous experience with Engineered Wood Products (i-joists, GLB’s)
  • Previous Designer or Estimator experience
  • Understanding of roof and floor load development
