Responsibilities / Position overview
We are seeking an experienced Operations and People Leader with a background in Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR)/Health Technology Assessment (HTA) to join our HEOR Research team at the Director level.
You should expect to have responsibilities spanning project delivery, operations and operational quality, and people leadership. Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Leading and providing expert guidance on a variety of HEOR projects
- Supporting development of HEOR strategies for new product launches
- Conceptualizing and leading the development of payer focused deliverables (e.g. value tools, value dossiers) and stakeholder engagement activities
- Instructing, guiding and supporting the development of less experienced members of the team to complete tasks and have accountability for the quality of deliverables
- Overseeing operational quality for a cohort of team members, including process compliance and process improvement recommendations and actions
- Supporting a cohort of team members to achieve group utilization targets
- Line managing a cohort of team members, supporting their wellbeing and managing their performance and career development
- Working closely with other members of Research leadership and wider leadership to motivate and engage the team to deliver high quality HEOR services
This role is external-facing, and you will be required to demonstrate professional excellence in client and other external stakeholder interactions.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in the growth and evolution of the team and continuous improvement of HEOR capabilities within the business. While the role has a Global focus, we are looking for someone based in North America with specific experience in delivering high quality US payer facing value and access materials.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic HEOR specialist with a passion for operations and people leadership. Someone who enjoys supporting and coaching early career HEOR researchers, and has the vision and flexibility approach required to contribute to the growth and evolution of the business.
- An academic qualification in HEOR, life sciences or closely related topic
- At least 8 years of professional experience supporting the development of value and access strategies and materials for new product launches
- Proven ability to oversee and improve operational quality and support team in achieving business goals
- Deep expertise in the North American market (US, Canada) with working knowledge or willingness to quickly acquire knowledge of others (e.g., UK, EU)
- Proficiency with Microsoft packages and reference software e.g. EndNote
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a view to liaising with technical and non-technical clients (both internally and externally)
- The ability to clearly communicate technical content to a non-technical audience is a key requirement of this role
- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team delivering technical expertise in HEOR topics that feed into value and access deliverables e.g. statistics, evidence review and synthesis, economic modelling
- Experience with team management, including direct and indirect line management of staff and additional mentorship of early career researchers
- Proven ability to deliver projects to a high-quality within timelines, budget and scope
- This role may require occasional travel, for example to attend client meetings in person or for conference attendance
