Role Description

The Retirement Plan Consultant serves as the main contact and compliance expert for employer-sponsored retirement plans, including 401(k), 403(b), profit-sharing, and Pooled Employer Plans (PEPs). This role ensures regulatory compliance while providing consulting and client service for both single-employer and pooled plans.

  • Act as the primary consultant for plan sponsors and participating employers in PEPs.
  • Provide guidance on plan design, compliance testing, and fiduciary best practices.
  • Perform annual compliance testing and prepare Form 5500 filings.
  • Oversee onboarding and administration of adopting employers in PEPs.
  • Collaborate with Pooled Plan Providers, recordkeepers, and custodians.
  • Advise on plan mergers, terminations, and compliance corrections.
  • Stay current on legislative and regulatory updates impacting retirement plans.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 4–8 years of experience in retirement plan administration with a TPA or recordkeeper.
  • Experience managing both single-employer and pooled employer plans (PEPs).
  • Professional certifications such as QKA, QPA, CPC, APA, APR are preferred.
  • Proficiency with Relius, FTWilliam, ASC, and Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance in retirement plans.
  • Expertise in compliance testing software.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $33.65/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
