Role Description

This role can be remote in the US. Vantage is looking for a detail-oriented, hands-on Automation Systems Engineer to support Ignition and PLC software development for new construction and sustaining mission-critical data center infrastructure. This role focuses on execution, implementation, and support of automation solutions while working closely with senior engineers and project stakeholders.

  • Review mechanical and electrical drawings, sequences of operation, and instrumentation diagrams to assist in the development of automation logic and visualization applications.
  • Support both new builds and live production systems.
  • Contribute to standardization and continuous improvement efforts across the Vantage North America portfolio.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, commissioning, and validation of automation systems in live, mission-critical environments.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of the Ignition (Inductive Automation) SCADA platform.
  • 0-2 years of experience in industrial automation SCADA development.
  • Data center experience preferred but not required.
  • Understanding of automation systems including control loops, field I/O, and industrial control system fundamentals.
  • Experience with industrial PLC platforms, including Rockwell Automation, Carel, or similar systems.
  • Familiarity with version control systems and software development best practices preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and follow defined technical standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePoint.

  • Travel required up to approximately 25 percent, with potential variation based on business needs.
