Job Description
We are looking for a hands-on, highly collaborative Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting to lead the Revenue/AR Accounting function. Reporting directly to the Controller, this is a high-visibility role where you will be expected to lead a team, navigate complex technical challenges, and "get your hands dirty" in the details of our usage-based billing model.
This role is an ideal match fit for a technically strong revenue leader who enjoys solving complex problems, partnering cross-functionally, and building scalable processes in a usage-based SaaS environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end revenue cycle under ASC 606, ensuring accurate treatment of variable consideration, usage-based fees, and multi-element arrangements.
Maintain and update the corporate revenue recognition policy. Document technical positions for new product launches or bespoke contract terms.
Advise Deal Desk, Account Owners, and Sales on OTC processes. You’ll be the "go-to" for technical revenue guidance during the sales cycle.
Lead the revenue close process, including the review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis of revenue, deferred revenue and AR accounts.
Drive operational excellence by leveraging AI and automation to eliminate manual touchpoints in the revenue lifecycle, reducing month-end close cycle times and improving data integrity.
Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors regarding revenue-related inquiries and walkthroughs.
Lead and mentor a team, fostering a culture of exceptional internal and external customer service.
Assist in the implementation or scaling of billing and automated revenue recognition tools (e.g., NetSuite ARM, Tabs, Zuora).
Manage and participate in cross-functional projects to support customer reporting and insights within the product.
Required Qualifications
6+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years specifically focused on usage-based or consumption-based billing and revenue models.
CPA preferred.
Deep technical knowledge of revenue recognition under ASC 606.
Familiarity with CECL, bad debt / AR reserve methodologies, and related analyses.
Experience with multi-arrangement contracts with non-standard terms.
Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated success in leading and mentoring teams through organizational change, including system implementations, and the evolution of complex usage-based revenue models.
