What You Will Do
The Product Designer will create delightful digital experiences for Sharp patients and their families. The Product Designer owns user experience and user interface design tasks and projects, from requirements definition to go-live, for Sharp.com, the Sharp mobile app and other digital initiatives. Position involves building working partnerships across the business and within the Digital Experience, Creative Services and Web Development teams to assist creating and launching initiatives/projects on scope and on schedule. Creates sitemaps, design system assets, navigation schemes, wireframes and prototypes, to produce the best possible products for our patient and consumer population.
Required Qualifications
- 3 Years progressive responsibility and relevant experience providing in UX design, and creating IA assets (including wireframes, sitemaps, prototypes, user flows, etc.)
- Experience working with a variety of business stakeholders to effectively communicate project needs and timelines.
- Experience with wire framing and interactive prototyping software.
- Experience with design tools such as Figma and Adobe Design Suite
Other Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in human-computer interaction, computer science, psychology, design, marketing, communications or similar field required; or UX certification from an accredited university or Nielsen Norman Group and 2 years experience in UX design, graphic design or visual design accepted in lieu of degree. - Required
Essential Functions
- UX and UI Design
Collaborate with product managers, designers and researchers, developers and other business units to create delightful and effective digital health care experiences.
Create sitemaps, navigation schemes, wireframes and prototypes, as part of a talented product design and research team.
Research the conceptual design of new product features and site enhancements.
Create interactive prototypes for usability testing. Iterate concepts based on research insights.
Develop optimized layouts and image sizes for responsive sites and applications.
Work directly with Web Development to ensure designs and user flows are implemented and function as intended.
Maintain and contribute to design system and ensure that a consistent design language, including necessary documentation to support brand continuity, usability and accessibility is applied across the brand’s digital properties.
Learn new technologies to maintain brand relevance and usability over time.
Acquire appropriate imagery, producing digital illustrations as necessary.
Perform changes to graphic files from outside vendor partners.
Successfully manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Collaborate with third-party vendors in user interface and experience design, and provide feedback aligned with brand standards. - Manage Internal Client Relationships
Serve as point-of-contact to internal clients for moderately complex UX projects, under the direction of more senior designers and personnel. Assist with client management on more complex projects.
Contribute ideas for functionality improvements to website and product brainstorms.
Advise on product UX and user research for mid-size projects.
Regularly present UX work to project teams, clearly communicating functionality and connecting it to strategic goals. - Research and Analysis
Conduct usability research and data analysis in support of UX research operation.
Collaborate with UX research team to plan user testing, write scripts, create testable components (from sketching low fidelity wires to building interactive prototypes) and facilitate testing sessions.
Direct, request and participate in data analysis to determine design approach.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Technical and creative skills in usability and interactive design required.
- Ability to communicate, work and form relationships with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment requiring minimal supervision.
- Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes
- Experience building CSS + HTML prototypes
