Job Description

• Review and interpret CAD drawings, templates, and fabrication specifications for countertop. • Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for stone, quartz, and solid surface cutting, polishing, and finishing. • Set up and configure CNC machines (routers, saws, polishers) for production runs. • Collaborate with CAD designers, project coordinators, and fabrication teams to ensure designs are machine-ready. • Monitor CNC operations to ensure output meets accuracy, quality, and efficiency standards. • Troubleshoot programming and machining issues and adjust as needed. • Maintain organized program files, revision control, and technical documentation. • Contribute to process improvements to enhance production speed, reduce waste, and improve product quality. • Receive and review bid invitations and project assignments for commercial and residential builds. • Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and scope documents. • Measure and estimate countertop materials, fabrication requirements, and installation labor. • Utilize software such as Bluebeam REVU, AutoCAD, and CG Quotes (Moraware) for takeoffs, slab optimization, and plan interpretation. • Prepare detailed bid spreadsheets, pricing proposals, and formal bid letters. • Communicate with suppliers, fabricators, and contractors to obtain pricing, clarify project details, and resolve RFIs. • Submit complete bid packages by required deadlines. • Maintain organized documentation of proposals, bids, and correspondence. • Support post-bid follow-ups and handovers for awarded projects.

Job Requirements

  • Technical diploma, vocational training, or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Drafting, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Experience as a CNC Programmer, Estimator, or blended role within countertop fabrication, millwork, or construction.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and architectural plans.
  • CNC programming software proficiency (AlphaCAM, Mastercam, or similar).
  • CAD and estimating software proficiency (AutoCAD, Bluebeam REVU, CG Quotes/Moraware).
  • Strong understanding of countertop fabrication, stone/quartz handling, and installation requirements.
