Job Description
About the Role:
This application is for a 12-week internship role from June - August 2026. Resume review begins in February 2026.
The Data Visualization and Application Development (DVAD) group within Quantitative Sciences & Development Operations (QSDO) creates custom tools to support clinical trials. We have vast operational data collected through various home-grown applications such as project assignments, programming resourcing, invoicing data, project milestones, etc.
What You’ll Do:
As an intern, your role includes but not limited to:
- Integrate data from multiple internal sources.
- Analyze complex datasets to find patterns and insights.
- Create visualizations and dashboards for scientific or operational use.
- Use programming tools (SQL, SAS/R, Python) for data processing.
- Collaborate with biostatistics, programming, and analytics teams.
Example projects may include:
- Integrate multiple operational datasets and build a visualization dashboard to highlight trends and insights.
- Develop an interactive analysis or visualization tool to support decision making across clinical or programming teams.
Who You Are:
- Experience in manipulating and analyzing complex data from various sources to highlight patterns and relationships
- Proficient in relational database structures and, ideally, SQL programming
- Proficient in any statistical programming language such as SAS®, or R
- Proficient in any scripting language such as Python, PHP, PERL or bash
- Basic understanding of Applied Machine Learning techniques such as linear regression, random forest, clustering etc.
- Experience or familiarity with visualization tools such (ex. Power-BI, Splunk etc.)
- Strong critical thinking, technical and analytical abilities
- Strong verbal and visual communication skills
- Strong desire to learn and motivation to complete projects
- Ability to cultivate relationships with various functional groups
To participate in the Biogen Internship or Co-op Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited community college, college, university or skills program/apprenticeship.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Programming or Information Technology.
Additional Information
The actual hourly wage offered will consider the candidate’s current academic level and degree candidacy, inclusive of Associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s, JD, MD, PhD and MBA programs. It will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements specific to the job location.
