Job Description
• Oversee the development and implementation of individualized academic plans for students in grades K–12.
• Ensure accurate course selection aligned with graduation requirements and postsecondary goals.
• Monitor student progress toward promotion and graduation, including credit audits and transcript reviews.
• Establish systems for proactive academic intervention, retention planning, and schedule adjustments.
• Supervise dual credit/dual enrollment processes and maintain partnerships with higher education institutions.
• Ensure integrity and accuracy of student transcripts, GPA calculations, and class rankings (if applicable).
• Oversee transcript requests, credit transfers, and academic record compliance in accordance with FERPA regulations.
• Collaborate with enrollment, registrar, and academic leadership teams to ensure proper course placement and scheduling.
• Review and approve course enrollment requests to ensure alignment with student academic plans.
• Lead implementation of short-term counseling services and referral systems.
• Develop structured intervention systems for at-risk students in collaboration with student support teams.
• Oversee guidance programming addressing self-management, decision-making, peer relationships, and emotional wellness.
• Ensure counselors maintain accurate documentation of services and family communications in the SIS/CRM.
• Direct comprehensive college and career readiness programming for middle and high school students.
• Oversee support related to college applications, scholarships, FAFSA completion, SAT/ACT timelines, ASVAB, AP courses, and career exploration.
• Coordinate virtual college fairs, career panels, and readiness events.
• Ensure compliance with NCAA eligibility processes and dual credit systems (where applicable).
• Provide leadership, supervision, and evaluation of school counselors.
• Collaborate with academic coaches, learning specialists, teachers, and family support teams.
• Ensure counseling department compliance with accreditation standards, internal policies, and confidentiality regulations (FERPA).
• Analyze student data to drive program improvements and report outcomes to executive leadership.
• Develop and maintain counseling program procedures aligned with best practices in virtual education.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by executive leadership.
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in School Counseling, Education, or related field
- Valid state certification/licensure as a K–12 School Counselor
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in education (leadership experience preferred)
- Demonstrated expertise in academic advising, graduation planning, transcripts, GPA calculation, and postsecondary readiness
- Experience working with diverse student populations
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills in a remote environment
- High level of technology proficiency (Google Workspace, Zoom/Google Meet, LMS/SIS systems)
