Role Description
The Business Development Director will report to the Pursuit Head of OEM Sales. The position, while having no direct reports, will be responsible for the overall health and development of select customer relationships, which includes the mentoring of other customer-focused team members.

- Creating and managing a customer roadmap that defines multi-year targets and KPIs by product area, site, and program
- Creating customer specific growth strategies that tie to Pursuit's current and desired manufacturing capabilities
- Building and managing a new business pipeline to achieve account growth targets
- Managing, improving, and extending existing contracts to achieve sales and margin targets
- Establishing relationships with customer engineering, supply chain, and executive personnel
- Drafting new business proposals and negotiating subsequent awards
- Assisting site Account Managers and General Managers with customer requirement understanding and Pursuit obligations
- Escalating customer relationship issues to Pursuit executives in a timely and responsible manner
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 10+ years of account management and/or customer facing work experience
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future
- Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations
Requirements
- Bachelors in Engineering or Business preferred
- Account Management experience in the aerospace manufacturing industry is strongly preferred
- Ability to interpret technical data and understand opportunity fit with each manufacturing site’s capabilities
- Knowledge of manufacturing environments: machining, sheet metal, fabrications, castings, forgings
- Knowledge of how OEM supply chain and engineering functions work
- Ability to create clear and impactful presentations for internal and external customers
- Ability to understand and talk fundamental economics behind deal financials, including cost, investment parameters and pricing elements
- Ability to understand and talk the fundamental industrialization elements behind deal frameworks including manpower, machine selection, manufacturing methods, materials and measurement particulars
- Ability to program manage key initiatives to successful outcomes
Working Conditions
- Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds
- Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
- Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules
