Role Description

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a driven mortgage professional ready to build, mentor, and scale a high-performing branch. You will lead from the front — driving production, developing strong referral networks, and empowering Mortgage Loan Originators (MLOs) to reach their full potential. This role blends business development, operational oversight, and team leadership, offering the autonomy to build your branch your way — including the opportunity to bring an existing team.

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Mortgage Loan Originators, fostering a high-performance culture focused on production, service, and ethical standards.
  • Build and maintain a strong referral network including real estate professionals, builders, financial planners, attorneys, accountants, and other community partners.
  • Drive branch production goals through proactive prospecting, relationship management, and local business development initiatives.
  • Oversee the full loan lifecycle from origination through closing, ensuring operational efficiency and an exceptional customer experience.
  • Serve as the primary support resource for MLOs, providing guidance on loan programs, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct interviews and participate in recruiting efforts to expand and strengthen the branch team.
  • Ensure strict adherence to federal and state regulatory standards and maintain up-to-date knowledge of lending guidelines and internal policies.
  • Actively participate in community engagement and professional organizations to strengthen the branch’s local presence and reputation.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in mortgage banking, lending, or branch leadership, with a strong track record of production and business development.
  • Active NMLS license and comprehensive knowledge of federal and state mortgage regulations.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience mentoring, recruiting, and developing Mortgage Loan Originators.
  • Strong relationship-building abilities and an established referral network within the real estate and financial services community is highly desirable.
  • In-depth understanding of loan products, underwriting processes, and the full mortgage lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High ethical standards and a strong commitment to compliance and customer service excellence.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate independently and drive branch growth.
