Role Description

This role involves supporting the full range of WPP’s core accounting activities including:

  • Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • General ledger maintenance
  • Reconciliations
  • Monthly close

You’ll ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting by:

  • Reviewing and processing invoices
  • Routing approvals
  • Posting payments
  • Reconciling vendor and member accounts
  • Preparing journal entries
  • Assisting with billing, payroll-related reconciliations, and benefit reporting

You’ll also contribute to:

  • Internal controls
  • Documentation
  • Audits
  • Process improvements

Your efforts will help refine workflows and build a strong, well-structured accounting environment as the organization continues to grow.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles
  • Experience with AP, AR, GL, reconciliations, and reporting
  • FERC regulatory reporting knowledge required
  • Ability to understand utility industry-specific account coding requirements
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal to moderate supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with accounting software systems
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Experience with nonprofit accounting preferred
  • CPA, CMA or equivalent certification preferred
