Job Description
Role Description
This role involves supporting the full range of WPP’s core accounting activities including:
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- General ledger maintenance
- Reconciliations
- Monthly close
You’ll ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting by:
- Reviewing and processing invoices
- Routing approvals
- Posting payments
- Reconciling vendor and member accounts
- Preparing journal entries
- Assisting with billing, payroll-related reconciliations, and benefit reporting
You’ll also contribute to:
- Internal controls
- Documentation
- Audits
- Process improvements
Your efforts will help refine workflows and build a strong, well-structured accounting environment as the organization continues to grow.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Experience with AP, AR, GL, reconciliations, and reporting
- FERC regulatory reporting knowledge required
- Ability to understand utility industry-specific account coding requirements
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal to moderate supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with accounting software systems
- Strong attention to detail
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Experience with nonprofit accounting preferred
- CPA, CMA or equivalent certification preferred
