Role Description

As a Marketing Strategist, you will author and oversee the development of integrated marketing and enrollment strategies that drive measurable outcomes for our higher education client partners. This role requires a strategist who understands the admissions and enrollment lifecycle and can translate research, data, and institutional priorities into actionable marketing direction.

  • Serve as the senior thought leader on assigned accounts
  • Lead research and discovery
  • Craft comprehensive marketing and enrollment plans
  • Guide cross-functional execution
  • Deliver compelling strategic presentations
  • Collaborate closely with various teams to ensure strategic alignment and effective implementation
  • Support agency growth through business development contributions

What You’ll Do

  • Research Analysis and Strategy Development
    • Work cross-functionally throughout the engagement lifecycle
    • Conduct research and discovery, including competitor research, focus groups, workshops, quantitative market studies, and surveys
    • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify key insights
    • Conduct market and situational analyses to define goals and develop tailored marketing strategies
    • Build strategy briefs, reports, and other deliverables in collaboration with in-house subject matter experts
  • Full Funnel Enrollment Strategy & Institutional Advisory
    • Develop and lead strategies that support the complete prospect journey
    • Serve as a trusted consultant to institutional leaders
    • Advise institutions on full-funnel enrollment strategy
    • Provide strategic guidance on marketing department structure and operational workflows
    • Identify gaps, redundancies, and inefficiencies across marketing and admissions efforts
    • Recommend and guide execution across various tactics
  • Strategic Enrollment Planning
    • Facilitate stakeholder workshops and executive discussions
    • Align all marketing activity with admissions goals and institutional KPIs
  • Business Development Support
    • Provide research insights for business proposals
    • Participate in developing and delivering new business pitches
    • Draft case studies showcasing the impact of VisionPoint’s work
  • Strategy Team Support
    • Stay abreast of higher education and marketing trends
    • Contribute to the Strategy team’s efforts in strategic planning and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in marketing, strategy, and analysis within the higher education sector
  • Skilled at analyzing large quantities of research and data
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and task management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and projects simultaneously
  • Proactive problem solver with critical thinking skills
  • High standard of excellence and commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Value diversity, equity, and inclusion with a growth mindset

  • Experience working in a matrixed or cross-functional environment
