Job Description

• Own the full accounting function (AP/AR, GL, close, reporting) • Lead month-end/year-end close and deliver accurate, board-ready financials • Develop, maintain, and enforce internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures that are scalable and audit-ready • Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and cash management • Ensure compliance with Medicaid/Medicare billing, tax filings, and regulatory requirements • Select, implement, and optimize accounting systems to scale with growth • Build scalable, automated processes that support a fast-moving startup environment

Job Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive Accounting experience; minimum of 2 years of controller or senior accounting experience
  • Experience building and leading in a high-growth, early-stage startup and strong knowledge of equity accounting and cap table management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
  • Solid grasp of healthcare finance (CPOM, Medicaid/Medicare billing, value based care, compliance, etc.)
  • Experience supporting revenue cycle management a plus
  • Experience coordinating external audits, SOC compliance, and GAAP audit readiness
  • Proficiency with accounting software (NetSuite, QuickBooks, etc.), expense management platforms (Bill.com, Brex, etc.), and advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Familiarity with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., Rippling, Gusto, ADP)
  • Familiarity with state and federal tax compliance, including multi-state requirements
  • Strong collaboration skills with executive and senior thought partners
  • Ownership mindset – own driving results for the mission, business, and customer experience
  • Strong desire to work in an early stage startup environment that is fast paced, complex, and has minimal barriers to make decisions (no “red tape”)
  • Passion for helping individuals experiencing complex chronic needs such as homelessness, severe mental illness, and substance use disorder
