- Champion shift-left testing and test-driven development practices
- Build test strategies aligned to microservices, event-driven systems, and distributed architectures
- Develop automated tests for functional, integration, performance, and reliability scenarios
- Ensure test coverage supports rapid delivery without creating brittle or slow pipelines
- Partner with CI/CD teams to integrate automated testing into continuous delivery workflows
- Improve observability and diagnostics to support faster defect detection and resolution
- Collaborate with engineers to improve system testability, resilience, and design clarity
- Contribute to defining quality standards and patterns used across teams
- Mentor other engineers on quality engineering and testing practices
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering, test automation, or SDET roles
- Strong programming skills in one or more modern languages
- Experience designing and maintaining automated test frameworks
- Solid understanding of API testing, service-level testing, and distributed systems
- Experience testing event-driven and asynchronous systems
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated quality gates
- Experience working with relational databases and validating data integrity
- Exposure to cloud-native systems and SaaS architectures
Requirements
- Strong understanding of software design principles and system architecture
- Ability to collaborate closely with product engineers as a peer
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain quality trade-offs clearly
- Structured thinker with strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working across teams in a fast-moving environment
Mindset and Values
- Believes quality is built in, not inspected in
- Builder mindset with a passion for automation and systems thinking
- Customer-aware, understanding how failures impact real users
- Learning-first attitude, continuously improving tools and techniques
- Calm under pressure and disciplined in incident response
- Values teamwork, transparency, and shared ownership
What Success Looks Like
- Quality issues are detected early and addressed quickly
