Role Description
The Echo/Vascular Tech performs ultrasound imaging procedures to assist in the evaluation and treatment of patients with heart conditions. This role involves using advanced ultrasound technology to capture detailed images of the heart and surrounding structures, ensuring accurate diagnosis, and contributing to effective patient management. The Echo/Vascular Tech will collaborate with ordering cardiologists to provide high-quality care and support optimal patient outcomes. May perform cardiac, carotid, and/or vascular ultrasounds (dependent upon licensure).
Essential Job Duties
- Perform routine cardiac, carotid and/or vascular ultrasounds while complying with Cardiac Solutions protocol and ICAEL standards for ultrasound testing.
- Assess imaging in order to identify next steps per departmental protocol.
- Assist physicians by providing the measurements and pictures acquired during testing in an accurate, precise manner.
- Actively demonstrate a working knowledge of ultrasound techniques and principles to provide quality imaging.
- Consistently seek educational tools in order to stay current with professional registry and ICAEL standards.
- Completing patient exams and reports per departmental protocol.
- Participates in interdisciplinary team and facility meetings.
- Shares knowledge, experience, and education relevant to sonography with peers.
- Travels to all offices as needed.
- Other duties as assigned per the need of the organization and within scope of licensure.
