Job Description

• supporting configuration management related processes that comply with the GEH quality program and project delivery requirements in support of new commercial nuclear reactor projects and GEH Engineering Services • assisting in all areas of configuration management to include Requirements Management, Design Control, Document and Records Management, and Issue and Change Management • responsible for process development activities, providing support in the areas of change management, configuration management, process evaluation, and procurement, and providing training and mentorship to other lesser experienced personnel as required • participating in simplification initiatives and driving process improvements • becoming a GEH site subject matter expert in the procurement process from a CM perspective including review and management of engineering documentation that defines supplier requirements on a purchase order • owning CM and change control processes for specific procurement or project related activities; providing CM procurement consultation to site personnel • supporting processing supplier documentation from the issuance of a purchase order until the documentation is submitted as a record in the GEH Records Repository • performing Responsible Configuration Management (RCM) reviews of technical documentation ensuring that the documentation meets all the CM requirements for submittal • building workflows, portals and guiding the organization in digitizing processes and creating dashboards for displaying metrics using business provided tools • becoming a subject matter expert as it relates to the plant product structure within PLM • supporting GEH and customer/external party interaction and maintaining process-related collaboration sites using company provided tools • developing in-depth knowledge of CM process and tools within assigned area of responsibility • creating, uploading, and managing records in the product lifecycle management tool • supporting Engineering and Management in planning, assessment, reporting, and tracking activities and in preparation of presentations and reports • ensuring projects and assignments are implemented on time, with high quality, within budget, in accordance with approved policies, plans, or procedures • utilizing experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals • having a clear understanding and implementation of applicable nuclear regulations, industry standards, and company practices related to CM • providing training and associated materials to others to support evolving CM processes, procedures, instructions, guides, and tools • coordinating CM related activities with interfacing internal groups [e.g., other engineering teams, Project Management, Sourcing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs] as well as external organizations [e.g., parent company entities, partners, suppliers, regulators] • performing as an individual contributor in a team environment to deliver on initiatives and activities related to CM as assigned in areas to include, requirements management, document management, records management, change management, and process improvement projects • supporting company initiatives – LEAN, continuous process improvement, digitization, cost-out and productivity programs, New Product Introduction

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 6 years of professional experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in configuration management as a practice or specialty OR procurement as a practice or specialty
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Support Central; familiarity with Acrobat Professional to create / modify PDF files
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects and think strategically
  • Strong oral / written communication skills and organization skills
  • Work well in a team environment, support process improvement projects; able to be calm, open, and inclusive in dynamic and stressful situations
  • Familiarity with nuclear (e.g., NRC) regulations, integrity, safety, security, and quality assurance culture
  • Honest and straightforward with a high level of personal integrity
  • Familiarity with a variety of configurable commercial off the shelf (COTS) configuration, document, and requirements management solutions (e.g., Oracle ERP, Documentum, Support-Central Tool Suite, ENOVIA, DOORS Next)
  • CM experience in a highly-regulated industry, the nuclear industry, at a national laboratory, or a governmental agency
  • Records management experience and CM or quality assurance experience in construction, manufacturing, operations, or engineering process requirements documents (e.g., plans, procedures, instructions, guide, training manuals)
  • Self-starter with energy, positive “Can-Do” attitude able to energize others with legacy of delivering on commitments and stretch goals with proven track record of accomplishments in a fast paced environment producing quality deliverables
  • Ability to work with little supervision
