Job Description

Allies4Outcomes (A4O) is an innovative, fast-growing for-profit organization building systems and services that strengthen communities. We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting & Fiscal Operations Specialist who is a certified QuickBooks user to support financial operations in close partnership with the CFO and the administrative leadership team. A4O’s customer service philosophy is grounded in responsiveness, accountability, and partnership, ensuring that every interaction reflects our commitment to excellence, clear communication, and solutions-oriented support.

Position Overview

The Accounting Technician will support day-to-day financial operations, ensure accuracy of financial records, complete payroll, and help strengthen internal financial systems as the organization scales. This role requires precision, discretion, and the ability to operate effectively in a build-as-we-grow environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Process invoices, reimbursements, and vendor payments
  • Maintain accurate general ledger entries in QuickBooks, in a complex multi-level system
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly financial close processes
  • Support payroll processing and coordination with HR
  • Prepare financial reports and internal budget tracking summaries
  • Monitor expense coding and ensure proper cost allocation across projects

Data Integrity & Compliance

  • Maintain organized financial documentation and audit-ready files
  • Support grant and contract financial tracking (if applicable)
  • Assist with preparation for external audits or financial reviews
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and for-profit accounting standards

Operational Support

  • Collaborate with operations and program teams to ensure accurate expense tracking
  • Support process improvements to strengthen financial systems and reporting workflows
  • Assist in developing scalable financial procedures as the organization grows

Qualifications

  • QuickBooks Certified User (required)
  • 10 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles and for-profit accounting practices
  • High proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools
  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage confidential financial information with discretion
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

Ideal Candidate

You are meticulous, organized, and systems-oriented. You align your financial work with the A4O Leadership & Practice Capacity-Building Model, understanding that fiscal integrity strengthens organizational credibility and impact. You approach accounting not as transactional processing alone, but as a critical infrastructure function that informs strategic decision-making and culture.

You understand that growth-stage organizations require initiative and adaptability. You are comfortable building clean, reliable financial systems while operating within evolving structures. Ambiguity does not compromise your accuracy; instead, you create clarity through reconciliation, documentation, and disciplined financial controls.

You bring rigor without inflexibility. You recognize that sound accounting practices—timely reconciliations, clean ledgers, organized documentation—are mission-critical in a for-profit environment. You take ownership of financial accuracy and contribute to building sustainable financial infrastructure that positions A4O for responsible growth.
