Role Description

This role sits at the intersection of engineering and private capital markets. You will help build a modern cloud-based analytics platform used by investment firms to manage complex financial data and analyze performance with precision.

The platform supports sophisticated workflows, large-scale data ingestion, and advanced reporting capabilities. The systems built here directly support mission-critical financial decisions where accuracy, reliability, and performance matter.

Work Model

  • Remote within the United States
  • Preference for candidates in the New York area (hybrid 3 days per week: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday)
  • Candidates outside NY must be comfortable starting by 10:30 a.m. ET
  • Travel to New York required up to three times per year (travel covered)

The Role

  • Lead technical initiatives from concept through production
  • Define system architecture and data models
  • Remain hands-on in development
  • Guide implementation strategy and long-term maintainability
  • Mentor engineers and elevate technical standards
  • Partner closely with product and design to deliver intuitive, high-performance features

You will balance delivery speed with platform integrity while navigating complex data and workflow challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Architect scalable services, APIs, and data models
  • Maintain high standards for data integrity, reliability, and resilience
  • Design systems that support complex financial workflows
  • Mentor engineers across experience levels
  • Introduce tools and practices that improve engineering quality and velocity

Qualifications

  • 9+ years of professional software development experience
  • Experience leading complex technical projects

  • Strong front-end experience with React and modern state/data management tools such as React Query
  • Strong database schema design and performant SQL experience
  • Ability to design systems accounting for validation logic, workflows, and cross-system dependencies
  • Clear communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to balance short-term delivery with long-term system health

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience extending advanced JavaScript libraries (e.g., spreadsheet/data-grid tools)
  • Experience building computation-heavy or performance-critical systems
  • Experience evolving complex data models as products scale
  • Interest in developer productivity tools, including AI-assisted workflows

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $185,000–$245,000 USD (depending on experience)
  • Equity participation
