Job Summary
Metal Tube Account Manager’s drive sales growth in targeted accounts, requiring at least 3 years of industrial sales experience, with a preference for candidates having over 5 years in outside sales, specifically in steel Fabricated goods. Candidates should have strong skills in account management, negotiation, and closing sales, alongside excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. The role seeks an energetic, proactive individual passionate about sales and customer service, with strong client acquisition skills through cold calling and networking.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Sales Growth: Drive revenue into targeted accounts by selling tubes and other value-added products, while creating demand for both existing and new products through various business opportunities.
Customer Management and Relationship Development: Service and managing existing customers by handling quotes, purchase orders (POs), and inventory, while addressing any challenges they may face. Cultivate strong relationships with customers and prospects, serving as a subject matter expert on steel tube and metal fabricated products and understanding their business needs.
Collaboration & Teamwork: Work closely with operations to achieve sales objectives and ensure seamless customer service, while also representing the company at trade shows and industry events.
Market Intelligence and Business Development: Gather and report insights into industry trends and customer needs to inform strategic planning and business development. Identify new business opportunities, including acquisitions and product developments, while acquiring a minimum of ten new non-purchasing contacts per month in target accounts.
Quality Assurance: Diagnose and resolve potential quality claims in collaboration with the Quality Assurance Team to maintain product integrity.
Sales Management: Function as the primary contact for new quotations, ensuring follow-ups and tracking orders throughout the sales cycle, while consistently exceeding monthly sales quotas.
Planning & Forecasting: Develop a plan to grow major prospects within the first 30 days and provide accurate weekly sales forecasts with actionable goals, while performing additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience: A bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent experience is preferred; a minimum of 3 years in industrial sales is required, with 5+ years of outside sales experience in a related industry preferred. Experience in steel-fabricated goods sales is highly desirable.
Skills: Proven skills in account management, negotiation, and closing sales, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with sales tech tools (e.g., HubSpot, PowerBi, ZoomInfo) is a plus.
Motivation: Initiative-taking and energetic employee with a passion for sales and customer service. Must demonstrate a strong commitment to success and a cheerful outlook.
Travel and Time Management Expectations: Availability for vehicle and air travel at least 60% of working days, including overnight trips; Allocate time effectively, with 40% on prospecting, 20% on client meetings, 25% on market research, and 15% on networking.
