Job Description
• Manage and negotiate contracts with vendors, partners, and service providers.
• Draft, review, and revise legal agreements including employment contracts, NDAs, and service agreements.
• Ensure contracts are compliant and aligned with organizational goals.
• Provide legal counsel on employment law matters across NY, CO, NJ, CA, and NV.
• Monitor regulatory changes and proactively update internal policies.
• Support HR and operations in resolving employee relations issues and investigations.
• Collaborate with C-level executives and cross-functional teams to align legal strategy with business objectives.
• Advise on union prevention, audit compliance, and risk management initiatives.
• Provide clear, strategic legal guidance to senior leadership.
• Anticipate legal challenges and shape proactive solutions.
• Partner across departments to support shared goals.
• Uphold a service-first mindset in support of teammates, clients, and the veterinary community.
Job Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; active bar membership in at least one of the following states: NY, CO, NJ, CA, NV
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in corporate law, with a strong emphasis on contract negotiation and employment law
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-state legal matters
- Experience in healthcare, veterinary, or multi-site operations is preferred
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and collaborate across departments
