Job Description
Fully Remote | $60k-$70k/yr (based on experience, paid hourly)
At Neighbors Bank, operational excellence in mortgage closing doesn’t happen by accident — it’s built through structured training, clear expectations, and leaders who know how to turn complex lending processes into confident performance.
We’re looking for a Closing Trainer to design, deliver, and continuously improve the learning experience for our Closing team. Your work will directly determine how prepared, consistent, and independent our mortgage Closers are when managing loan files on their own in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
If you enjoy developing people, creating clarity out of complex mortgage workflows, and partnering with leadership to raise performance standards across a department, this role offers the opportunity to make meaningful impact at scale.
What You’ll Do
- Design and deliver structured onboarding and development curriculum for Closers from day one through long-term growth.
- Build and facilitate skill-building sessions that elevate knowledge of the mortgage closing process and reinforce best practices.
- Conduct skill and competency assessments to determine readiness, identify gaps, and create targeted development plans.
- Partner closely with Operations leadership to ensure training aligns with production standards and department expectations.
- Create and continuously refine training materials, documentation, and job aids that drive consistency and clarity.
- Strengthen team culture by contributing to operational initiatives as needed (excluding licensed activity).
Who This Role Is For
This role is built for someone who:
- Holds a high-performance standard and consistently reinforces it
- Believes training should result in measurable readiness, not just completed sessions
- Is comfortable giving clear, direct, and constructive feedback
- Thrives in structured, process-driven environments
- Takes ownership of trainee outcomes, not just curriculum delivery
- Stays composed and decisive in fast-paced, deadline-driven setting
Hours for this role are fairly standard and you can expect to work Monday through Friday between 8a – 5p, most days. If you prefer ambiguity, loosely structured environments, or training without accountability, this likely won’t be the right fit.
Minimum Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on mortgage processing experience across multiple loan types
- 1+ years of experience in training, coaching, mentoring, onboarding, or employee development
- Demonstrated success performing in a high-volume, deadline-driven mortgage operations environment
- Strong understanding of mortgage operations processes and workflow
- Experience creating and delivering structured training materials, job aids, or learning programs
