GCI's Technical Accountant will support the organization’s financial reporting and technical accounting functions by researching complex accounting matters, documenting technical conclusions, and assisting in the preparation of internal and external financial reports. This role ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations, and other applicable regulatory requirements.

The position plays a key role in supporting quarterly and annual financial reporting processes, monitoring revenue recognition compliance under ASC 606, assisting with external audits, and supporting the administration and accounting of the company’s equity compensation plans. The Technical Accounting Analyst works closely with internal accounting teams, external auditors, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

  • Knowledge of Oracle or equivalent accounting system.

Minimum Qualifications: 

Required: 

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• Minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in general ledger accounting, external audit, and/or financial statement preparation, including public accounting experience.

Preferred: 

• Telecommunications experience.
• Other relevant telecom industry or job specific certifications.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS: 

• This position may require access to reliable transportation for occasional travel between retail store locations, offices, worksites, or other locations as needed.

• Work is primarily sedentary, requiring daily routine computer usage.
• Ability to work shifts as assigned, work in standard office/home office setting, and operate standard office equipment.
