About the Team:
You will be joining an extremely forward-thinking Global Business Operations Engineering team, reporting to the VP of Engineering. This team has exceptional Functional, process and technical expertise and has made significant progress in the AI space. You will work with folks who are not only smart but make it enjoyable as we work towards UKG’s organizational goals. 
 
Role Summary
The Director of Finance Software Engineering leads the design, delivery, and modernization of enterprise finance platforms supporting Order-to-Cash (O2C), Revenue Recognition, PTP and core Finance operations. This role partners closely with the CFO office, Finance Operations, and IT leadership to drive multi-year digital transformation initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance (SOX, ASC 606, ASC 842), and enable scalable, audit-ready financial systems. 
The role is accountable for global delivery, people leadership, vendor governance, and technology strategy across ERP and revenue platforms, with a strong focus on automation, data integrity, and operational efficiency. 
 
Key Responsibilities
Finance Technology Strategy & Transformation
  • Own end-to-end finance systems strategy across O2C, Revenue Accounting, Source-to-Pay, Project Accounting, Asset Accounting, and Lease Accounting. 
  • Define and execute multi-year finance modernization roadmaps aligned to CFO and enterprise objectives. 
  • Lead large-scale ERP and revenue platform transformations, including D365 or SAP S/4HANA  
  • Drive adoption of standardized finance operating models, automation, and data governance frameworks. 

Engineering Delivery & Transformation
  • Lead and scale a global organization of 50+ engineers and managers, including managers-of-managers, across multiple regions. 
  • Establish strong engineering execution, release governance, and delivery excellence across internal teams and system integrators. 
  • Ensure all solutions are SOX-compliant, audit-ready, and aligned with internal control standards. 
  • Oversee complex multi-vendor ecosystems, including SIs and platform partners. 
 
Stakeholder & Executive Partnership 
  • Act as a trusted technology advisor to Finance leadership, and business executives. 
  • Translate complex finance and revenue business models into scalable, compliant technical solutions. 
  • Present architecture options, trade-offs, and investment recommendations to senior leadership. 
  • Partner with Finance Operations, Accounting, Procurement, and Shared Services to drive adoption and outcomes.    
 
Revenue & Compliance Enablement 
  • Lead ASC 606-compliant revenue recognition implementations and decommission legacy revenue solutions. 
  • Enable subscription, usage-based, and project-based revenue models through tightly integrated billing and revenue platforms. 
  • Drive compliance with ASC 842 Lease Accounting and other regulatory requirements. 
  • Maintain zero-material-weakness outcomes through disciplined controls and governance. 
 
Automation, Data & Innovation 
  • Champion automation, AI/ML-enabled tooling, and rules-based workflows to reduce manual effort and cycle times. 
  •  Improve data quality, reconciliation accuracy, and financial close efficiency. 
  •  Increase automation coverage across finance and O2C processes while reducing operational risk. 
 
People Development & Culture 
  • Build and sustain a strong mentorship culture, developing senior leaders and succession pipelines. 
  • Foster a high-performance, inclusive, and accountable engineering culture across global teams. 
  • Coach leaders on execution rigor, stakeholder management, and strategic thinking. 

 

Required Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in enterprise finance systems, ERP, or revenue platforms. 
  • 7+ years in senior engineering or technology leadership roles. 
  • Deep expertise in  Finance, O2C, Revenue Accounting, and ERP-led transformations. 
  • Hands-on experience with revenue recognition platforms ( Zuora RevPro or equivalent). 
  • Strong knowledge of SOX controls, audit readiness, and financial compliance (ASC 606, ASC 842). 
  • Proven experience managing large global teams and multi-million-dollar initiatives 
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with CFO, CAO, and Finance leadership. 

 

Preferred 
  • Experience with subscription and usage-based business models. 
  • Background in automation, data platforms, or AI/ML applied to finance operations. 
  • Experience operating in high-growth, public company environments.

The pay range for this position is $163,900 to $235,550. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and work location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible to participate in a performance-based bonus plan and to receive restricted stock unit awards as part of total compensation.
