Role Description

This role involves designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge development programs that build competence and confidence in associates.

  • Create simple, relevant, and effective learning experiences for associates.
  • Design learning objectives, design documents, storyboards, and other learning design deliverables.
  • Develop learning solutions using project-based templates.
  • Test and debug deliverables for quality assurance.
  • Ensure learning solutions align with desired outcomes.
  • Partner with Learning Strategy Senior Managers on confirming needs analysis and instructional strategy.
  • Know standard eLearning development tools and software (Articulate Storyline and Presenter, Adobe Captivate).
  • Proactively communicate task and project status to client group and management.
  • Assist in the interviewing, selection, and onboarding of contractors and associates.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about development with advanced experience in instructional design and adult learning principles.
  • Track record of finding innovative approaches to develop people and creating learning solutions.
  • Experience working on multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with Agile Learning Development or the Successive Approximation Model (SAM).
  • Self-driven, collaborative, resourceful, and excellent at project management.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring other Instructional Designers.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfortable using technology (WebEx, Microsoft Teams, etc.).

Requirements

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Benefits

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunities to move about.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, HR Development, Organizational Development, I/O Psychology or related field preferred (or equivalent Home Depot experience).
  • Experience in learning field or similar work experience.
  • Experience creating training deliverables for retail organizations.

Minimum Education

  • Completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.

Minimum Years of Work Experience

  • 3 years.

Competencies

  • Proficient knowledge of instructional design and adult learning theories.
  • Proficiency with software including Microsoft Office and standard eLearning development tools.
  • Basic knowledge of project management principles and MS Project.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Salary Information

The pay range for this position is between $60,000 - $90,000 for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Nevada, New York City, Ithaca (NY), Westchester County (NY), and Washington residents.
