Job Description
Role Description
This position is part-time (30 hours) and remote, focusing on supporting the National Institute of Health (NIH) as an HR Benefits and Retirement Specialist.
- Calculating retirement estimates and in-processing new Federal employees
- Reviewing personnel/military service records
- Processing employee in-service changes to benefits enrollment
- Advising employees on various programs (FEHB, Thrift Saving Plans, Dental, Life Insurance, Retirement, Long term disability, etc.)
- Assisting in providing employee counseling on retirement options and eligibility requirements
- Managing and administering support for a Federal Benefits and Retirement Program
- Providing definitive answers to complex benefit questions regarding the Civil Service Retirement system (CSRS, offset, FERS)
Qualifications
- Must have 5 years of Federal experience in Retirement and Benefits
- Shall have an associates or bachelor's degree in human resources
- Proficiency using Federal personnel/payroll systems (e.g., FPPS, FHR, E-OPF)
