Role Description
This role is a strategic and operational leader responsible for driving the success of global partnerships across a diverse portfolio of alliances. The Director, Alliance Management ensures alignment between internal teams and external partners, overseeing governance, operational excellence, and execution of alliance frameworks. You will manage complex initiatives, track contractual obligations, and deliver measurable value while fostering cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder trust.
- Facilitate governance committees, including Joint Steering Committees and cross-functional working groups, ensuring timely follow-up and effective operation.
- Standardize workflows, implement best practices, and optimize processes to enhance efficiency across alliances.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with internal teams and external partners to enable productive collaboration and issue resolution.
- Implement alliance management principles, tools, and frameworks across partnerships and internal functions, supporting smooth onboarding of new alliances.
- Track and manage contractual obligations, milestones, and reporting requirements to ensure compliance and timely delivery of commitments.
- Oversee alliance systems, produce dashboards and reports, and provide insights to support performance monitoring and executive decision-making.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (B.S., M.S., Ph.D., or equivalent) in a scientific discipline and/or an MBA or equivalent degree.
- Minimum of 10 years of post-educational experience, including at least 5 years managing large, complex projects or partnerships in pharma, biotech, or life sciences environments.
- Direct experience in alliance management, project management, or operations management within pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies.
- Experience in oncology R&D is highly desirable.
- Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage diverse partners across cultures.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Expertise in contract management, negotiation, and facilitation of meetings and presentations.
- High emotional intelligence, cultural agility, and an inclusive mindset.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with a results-oriented approach.
