Role Description
North Stone is seeking a Database & Data Sustainment Engineer to support database operations and data modernization initiatives for enterprise systems. The engineer will manage database environments, optimize performance, and support evolving data requirements across development, test, and production systems.
- Manage and maintain Oracle database environments across development, test, and production systems.
- Monitor and optimize database performance and availability.
- Implement database configuration, patching, and maintenance activities.
- Support data modernization and integration efforts.
- Develop and maintain database scripts, queries, and stored procedures.
- Troubleshoot database performance issues and implement improvements.
- Support data migration and data integrity validation activities.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize data structures and queries.
- Maintain documentation for database architecture and operational procedures.
- Ensure database environments comply with security and access control requirements.
Qualifications
- Active DoD Secret Clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Privileged and SIPR access.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience managing relational databases.
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
- Experience supporting multiple database environments.
- Strong SQL and database troubleshooting skills.

- Experience supporting DoW or USAF Cloud One cloud environments.
- Experience with database modernization initiatives.
- Experience working within cloud-based database environments.
