Role Description

As an IDI disability claims analyst you will secure and analyze claim information to make disability claim decisions, including complex and high liability claims while also delivering excellent and timely customer service.

  • Investigate, secure, and analyze information pertaining to claimants' medical condition, occupational demands, work earnings, business income/expenses, insured status, and other policy provisions to accurately determine eligibility for disability benefits.
  • Identify whether coverage should be rescinded, seeking appropriate input from medical underwriting, legal, etc.
  • Identify financial or medical discrepancies and outstanding issues and secure additional documentation as needed while investigating within prescribed timeframes.
  • Make and communicate disability approval decisions and issue correct benefits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of disability claims processing experience with at least 2 years of IDI specific claims experience.
  • Ability to understand and interpret all claim evaluation materials such as contract language, medical records, financial records and legal correspondence.
  • Experience acting as a liaison with underwriting, reinsurance carriers, sales, private investigators, etc.
  • Recognize, understand and respond to situations involving potentially fraudulent activity and/or litigation to ensure a defensible file.
  • Effectively identify and prioritize critical objectives focusing on high impact components.
  • Provide effective leadership.

Salary Range

$76,250.00 - $111,500.00

Job Requirements
