Role Description

As the College’s Workday expert-in-residence for security administration, you make sure that the College gets the most value from its use of the Workday platform:

  • Lead security work during version upgrades and feature rollouts
  • Coordinate daily issue resolution
  • Apply configuration changes
  • Ensure data integrity and security compliance
  • Serve as a point of contact for security-related inquiries from users across the College

This job is performed remotely. Due to the sensitive nature of this role, a private, distraction-free work environment is required.

Duties & Responsibilities / What you’ll own

  • User Access Management: Manage user roles and permissions to ensure appropriate access to Workday features based on job responsibilities.
  • Regular Security Audits: Conduct audits of user access and security configurations to identify discrepancies or vulnerabilities.
  • Configuration Updates: Stay current on Workday updates and implement new security features.
  • Data Integrity: Validate security settings and conduct checks for data integrity.
  • Training and Support: Provide training for end-users and departmental stakeholders on security protocols and best practices.
  • Platform Configuration: Perform system setup and user security provisioning; advise on security impacts of changes.
  • Project Management: Adhere to departmental methodology for change control and process documentation.
  • Adapting to Regulatory Changes: Stay informed about changes in data privacy laws and regulations.
  • Strategy: Assist in establishing the College's Workday security strategy.
  • Leadership: Provide direction to team members and develop internal security controls and processes.
  • Prioritization: Provide input to prioritize the College’s Workday initiatives.
  • Liaison with IT: Develop awareness of Workday security capabilities and contribute to IT architecture discussions.
  • Liaison with Data Management: Assist in understanding the Workday security model.
  • Feedback Loop with Stakeholders: Gather feedback from users and departmental leaders about security concerns.
  • Vendors: Manage consultant engagements for larger Workday initiatives.
  • Training: Maintain Workday Pro certification in Security and Reporting.
  • Community: Represent the College in peer groups and user conferences.
  • Other duties & responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of related experience and expert knowledge of Workday security framework
  • Eagerness to explore new technology and processes
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Ability to interact positively and appropriately with a wide variety of users
  • Ability to communicate business needs to technical people and simplify complex technical information for non-technical users

Requirements

  • Workday Security, Finance, and/or HCM experience is required; Workday Student experience is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient office productivity software skills (Office, G.Suite, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Workday Pro certification(s) preferred, or must be willing to attain certification

Salary Range

$87,000 - $97,000 annually

To be eligible, applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
