It’s More Than a Career, It’s a Mission.

Our people are the foundation of our success. By joining our growing team at Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI), a subsidiary of McKesson, you will have the opportunity to become part of one of the largest community-based cancer programs to advance oncology treatments and improve outcomes for cancer patients across the globe. We look for mission-driven candidates who have a desire to advance the fight against cancer and make a difference in the lives of patients diagnosed with cancer every day.

Our Mission

People who live with cancer – those who work to prevent it, fight it, and survive it – are at the heart of every decision we make. Bringing the most innovative medical minds together with the most passionate caregivers in their communities, we are transforming care and personalizing treatment. Through clinical excellence and cutting-edge research, SCRI is redefining cancer care around the world.

The Project Manager is responsible for end‑to‑end planning, execution, governance, and delivery of technology and business initiatives. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, within budget, and in compliance with the IT Project Playbook, while driving accountability across cross‑functional teams. The ideal candidate is a proactive go‑getter who brings structure to ambiguity, drives outcomes, and takes full ownership of delivery.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Project & Program Planning

  • Create clear program and project scopes, objectives, success criteria, and delivery roadmaps to ensure alignment across stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans including tasks, timelines, milestones, resource assignments, and dependencies.
  • Define and manage project charters, including scope, assumptions, risks, resource needs, budget, and success metrics.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate governance and committee structures, including Steering Committees and working teams.
  • Ensure effective resource allocation in collaboration with functional and delivery leaders.

Delivery Methodologies

  • Lead projects using both Waterfall and Agile methodologies, selecting and adapting the approach based on project complexity, risk, regulatory needs, and business outcomes.
  • Apply Agile practices such as iterative planning, incremental delivery, and backlog prioritization where appropriate.
  • Ensure consistent execution, documentation, and reporting standards regardless of delivery methodology.

Governance, Methodology & Change Control

  • Ensure strict adherence to the IT Project Playbook, including management of all required deliverables from cross functional teams (e.g., requirements, design artifacts, test plans, training plans, and communications).
  • Manage change requests, performing impact analysis and ensuring formal Steering Committee review and approval prior to execution.
  • Facilitate governance meetings, prepare materials, document decisions, and track approvals and follow up actions.

Stakeholder Communication & Reporting

  • Provide regular, accurate project status updates covering milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, financials, and overall health.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Planview, ensuring it serves as the single system of record for project reporting.
  • Actively manage stakeholder expectations, resolve concerns, and align priorities and tradeoffs.

Quality & Delivery Excellence

  • Ensure high-quality deliverables that meet defined acceptance criteria and are ready for review, approval, and deployment.
  • Maintain a single source of truth by organizing and storing all project artifacts in shared, accessible repositories.
  • Capture and distribute meeting notes promptly, including decisions, action items, owners, and due dates, and ensure follow-through to closure.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve delivery effectiveness, governance, and team collaboration

Minimum Requirements:

  • 10+ years in project/program leadership, clinical technology delivery, or enterprise portfolio management for digital transformation
  • Proven experience delivering projects using both Waterfall and Agile methodologies with PMP (Project Management Professional) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Agilist (SA), or equivalent Agile certification
  • Strong project planning, execution, and governance capabilities
  • Experience managing cross‑functional teams and complex dependencies
  • Financial acumen with experience managing project budgets and forecasts
  • Ability to influence without authority and drive accountability
  • Hands‑on experience with enterprise project management tools (e.g., Planview, Jira, Smartsheet)
  • Proven success in enterprise-scale platform migrations, PMO development, and governance implementation.
  • Experience in healthcare, clinical research, life sciences, or regulated environments preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and drive alignment.

Interested candidates should submit their application through https://www.scri.com/careers/. Applications will be accepted through March 6, 2026. Please ensure all required materials are included as outlined in the posting.
