Role Description

This role offers the opportunity to design, build, and maintain high-quality, secure, and scalable Android applications that impact caregivers and patients in meaningful ways. The Sr. Mobile Software Engineer will take end-to-end ownership of features, collaborating closely with Product, Design, Backend, and QA teams to deliver polished and accessible mobile experiences.

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Android applications that meet healthcare security and accessibility standards
  • Own features end-to-end, from concept and development to testing, deployment, and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, WCAG)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver functional, user-friendly, and visually polished mobile experiences
  • Optimize code quality, performance, and resource usage, addressing memory, concurrency, and network efficiency issues
  • Implement automated testing (unit, UI, integration) and manage CI/CD pipelines using Fastlane and related tools
  • Apply AI-assisted development tools to enhance coding productivity, refactoring, and documentation
  • Mentor team members, champion mobile best practices, and drive continuous improvement in engineering standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience in native Android development with Kotlin (Java as needed)
  • Expertise in modern Android architectures (MVVM, Clean Architecture) and UI frameworks (Jetpack Compose)
  • Strong experience with Room, SQLite, Coroutines, Flow, WorkManager, and Android services
  • Proficient in integrating RESTful APIs, cloud services (AWS, Firebase, Azure), and push notifications
  • Deep understanding of mobile security best practices, including encryption, secure storage, and certificate pinning
  • Experience with automated testing tools (JUnit, Espresso), performance profiling, and debugging across devices and OS versions
  • Skilled in Git, CI/CD pipelines, Fastlane, and Play Store deployment processes
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA/GDPR) and AI/ML application in mobile development
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, mentoring, and Agile methodology experience
