Role Description
You will serve as a hands-on accessibility specialist responsible for conducting manual and automated accessibility assessments across a variety of cloud-based and web application environments. You will help strengthen the organization’s overall security, compliance, and accessibility posture by evaluating digital experiences, troubleshooting accessibility scan results, and guiding engineering teams toward effective remediation. This position requires strong technical expertise in accessibility standards, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple organizations and tools.
- Perform manual accessibility assessments on web properties and digital experiences based on WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA standards.
- Conduct manual testing including keyboard navigation, screen reader evaluation, color contrast reviews, and ARIA validation.
- Execute and troubleshoot automated accessibility scans using approved enterprise tools (e.g., Accessibility Insights).
- Investigate and resolve scan configuration issues, false positives, and automated test failures.
- Maintain and review the inventory of accessibility scanning tools, configurations, and assessment processes.
- Ensure accessibility results are accurate, actionable, and aligned with compliance requirements.
- Provide clear, technically grounded guidance to engineering teams to support remediation of accessibility findings.
- Track assessment outcomes and assist with maintaining dashboards, reports, and documentation.
- Contribute to division-level accessibility initiatives spanning multiple organizations, sites, and tools.
Qualifications
- Accessibility certification required (e.g., IAAP CPACC, WAS, or equivalent).
- 6+ years of experience in accessibility assessment, accessibility engineering, or a related technical compliance role.
- Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1/2.2 guidelines and accessibility testing methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with both manual and automated accessibility testing.
- Proficiency with accessibility testing tools (e.g., Accessibility Insights or equivalent).
- Ability to troubleshoot accessibility scan results, identify false positives, and correlate issues across tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate accessibility issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently, manage assessment workflows, and collaborate across teams.
- Steady work history (no frequent short-term roles) and possession of all required certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting accessibility efforts across large-scale, multi-team environments.
- Familiarity with Azure, Power Platform, or similar cloud ecosystems (conceptual understanding is sufficient).
- Ability to help unblock teams by providing deeper technical insights beyond basic accessibility testing.
- Experience coordinating scan scheduling, reporting cycles, or compliance readiness initiatives.
- Background in broader security or compliance assessment environments.
