Role Description
This role involves managing accounts receivable collection processes for TDD services.
- Responsible for contract analysis, reimbursement, denial management, and appeals.
- Resolve billing-related issues with insurance companies or other responsible parties.
- Recognizes patients’ rights and responsibilities and supports them in job duties.
- Follows up on invoices to ensure prompt payment and escalates issues as necessary.
- Evaluates payments/denials for correctness and ensures proper application.
- Identifies bad debt write-offs and A/R adjustments; initiates write-offs accordingly.
- Investigates and resolves overpayments and/or duplicate payments.
- Processes refund requests in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Maintains contact with other departments for necessary patient or insurance information.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory mandates.
- Conducts collection operations in line with department protocols and regulations.
- Troubleshoots payment discrepancies and establishes resolutions.
- Documents phone calls and details consistently.
- Looks for areas to maximize claim reimbursement.
- Resolves denial issues within 5 days of receipt.
- Maintains strict confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA guidelines.
- Maintains understanding of NDC numbers, metric quantities, and infusion supplies.
- Shares knowledge with team members and works collaboratively.
- Interacts positively and respectfully with others.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience required.
- 3-5 years of medical billing and collections experience required.
- Home Infusion, Intrathecal Pain Management experience preferred.
- Ability to recognize, evaluate, and exercise good judgment in complex situations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong work ethic with integrity and credibility.
- Self-directed, detail-oriented, and organized.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

- Ability to deal with problems involving multiple variables.
