This role supports a leading AI research lab working on evaluation benchmarks designed to test advanced AI systems on complex legal reasoning.
- Draft complex legal research questions reflecting real-world legal inquiries
- Design research problems involving multi-jurisdictional legal analysis
- Develop scenarios requiring resolution of conflicting legal authorities
- Create research tasks requiring deep precedent synthesis
- Ensure all questions are grounded in authoritative legal sources
- Maintain clarity, realism, and practical legal research scope
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience as a law librarian, research attorney, or senior legal research specialist
- Extensive experience handling complex or escalated legal research requests
- Deep understanding of legal research methodologies and legal databases
- Exceptional issue-framing, legal writing, and analytical reasoning skills
Requirements
- Experience training associates or legal staff on research techniques
- Exposure to AI tools used in legal research workflows
- Experience in dataset annotation, benchmark design, or evaluation frameworks
