Job DetailsPosition Type: Per DiemSalary Range: $26.00 - $30.00 HourlyJob Title: Quality Assurance Consultant         Department: Coding          Reports to: Coding Manager                            Date created/revised: 07/01/2025 FLSA Classification Nonexempt   Job Summary/Objective: The Quality Assurance Consultant completes internal and external auditing projects based upon pre-identified audit criteria and within specified timeframe.  The Quality Assurance Consultant is responsible for effectively communicating with the Coding Manager and clients, when applicable, to understand the scope and requirements of assigned auditing projects.      Duties/Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Serve as a coding expert and assist with coding questions as requested by manager  Required to maintain a 95% or higher quality standard  Required to meet project productivity standards as identified by manager  Participate in coder onboarding projects as identified by manager.  This will typically include quality review of new coders and hands-on training or counsel to new coders.  Review patient records for coding and documentation accuracy and compliance  Prepare inclusive auditing accuracy reports as requested  Assist with educational efforts as requested by client based on audit results  Assist with coding projects where necessary to meet client’s needs    Required Skills/Abilities: Relevant AAPC or AHIMA credential  Maintain confidentiality and remain compliant by effectively handling protected health information (PHI)  Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with physicians and other clinical disciplines  Energetic, confident, self-starter with the ability to work independently and thrive in the dynamic environment of a growing company  Detail oriented, with strong time management and planning skills to effectively meet deadlines  Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel  Strong technological skills with the ability to quickly and efficiently learn new systems, potentially working in more than one system at the same time    Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent.
