Role Description

  • Work Location: Remote (candidates must live within the DFW Metroplex) – Will meet at Texas Health Corporate, 612 E. Lamar Blvd., Arlington, TX 76011, quarterly.
  • Work Hours: Full-Time: Monday - Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
  • 1 Year Experience in business office in healthcare environment/patient access in hospital setting/call center in healthcare environment/ Revenue Cycle experience in healthcare required.
  • Working knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred.
  • Insurance verification knowledge preferred.
  • CHAA - Certified Healthcare Access Associate Upon Hire preferred.

Requirements

  • Must have the ability to consistently meet performance standards of production, accuracy, performing due diligence and quality.
  • Requires good listening and communication skills, and professional telephone etiquette.
  • Demonstrates ability to manage multiple, changing priorities in an effective and organized manner.
  • Excellent data entry, numeric, typing and computer navigational skills.
  • Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office.

What You Will Do

  • Completes patient accounts by verifying eligibility, benefits and ensuring all notifications and authorizations are completed within the required timeframe.
  • Communicates timely with Pre Access, Utilization Review, Financial Counselors, and Physician Offices to ensure verification of the patient's account prior to scheduled or unscheduled service during the patient's hospital stay.
  • Documents systems according to the Insurance Verification guidelines to assure accurate and timely reimbursement.
  • Utilizes tools such as Trace, OneSource, Web Portals, etc. to complete verifications, precertifications, and notifications as required in order to ensure the system maximizes revenue for the account.
  • Logs into Avaya System and phone queue.
  • Stays abreast of and complies with applicable regulations, department and/or system policies and procedures.
  • Ability to know and adhere to payer guidelines by plan and service type.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
