Job Description

About Remo

Remo is redefining dementia care by putting both the patient and the caregiver at the center of the journey. We do not just treat a diagnosis; we support a relationship. We orient our care around the patient and caregiver who are already navigating this journey together. We’ve replaced the traditional, fragmented approach with a virtual clinic that delivers personalized, expert-led care plans tailored to the specific needs of patients and families. By delivering high quality clinical care, connecting a supportive caregiver community, and providing 24/7 access to digital tools, we ensure no one has to navigate dementia alone. Our mission is to make high-quality, comprehensive dementia care accessible to every family, everywhere.

About the Role

“Remo Medical Group, P.A., the affiliated medical practice of Remo Health ("Remo"), is hiring a Medical Director (MD or DO). This is a remote full-time position here at Remo Health.

We are looking for a health tech leader who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment. Operating at the intersection of medicine and technology, you will design the workflows that bridge high-touch dementia care with high-scale digital solutions—all while championing our remote-first culture. This leader will help to continually define how our organization serves patients, families, and clinicians and work cross-functionally to ensure that Remo's processes and tools are built to support individuals living with dementia and their family caregivers.

The Medical Director oversees the delivery of evidence-based care and leads the multidisciplinary team including Neurologists, Geriatricians, Care Navigators, Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Pharmacists, and other care team members. They empower the team to achieve clinical excellence, continual learning and improvement, and joy of work. The Medical Director is the primary architect of clarity and cohesion within our clinical ecosystem.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Care Delivery:

  • To ensure a hands-on approach to Remo’s specialty care model, the Medical Director maintains a 30% clinical commitment alongside their administrative leadership.

  • Lead, supervise and mentor multidisciplinary care team members to deliver high value, empathetic patient care.

  • Stay current with the latest research and advances in dementia care and translate this knowledge to the team to ensure the highest possible quality of care (e.g., pathways for screening and addressing needs around social determinants of health, fall risk assessment and intervention, approaches to high risk medications, etc.)

Clinical Practice and Operations

  • Partner with the Senior Director of Clinical Operations to architect and enforce clinical care SOPs. Lead the synthesis of clinical excellence and operational efficiency.

  • Contribute to our program evaluation framework by identifying metrics that matter most for dyad outcomes, clinician satisfaction, and care model improvement. Spearhead population health initiatives and aggressively refine care models based on real-world evidence and emerging clinical best practices.

  • Serve as the internal voice for patient and clinician wellbeing, ensuring every operational decision supports superior health outcomes and a positive clinician experience.

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary clinical strategist to Product and Engineering, ensuring that innovative tools are leveraged to scale best-in-class care consistency and reduce clinician cognitive load.

  • Work in cross-functional teams, translating Remo’s high-touch care philosophy into functional clinical requirements that guide the development of internal tools and patient-facing interfaces.

  • Alongside the clinical team, provide rigorous clinical validation for new features, ensuring every technical iteration enhances the dyad relationship and adheres to the highest medical standards.

Workforce Excellence

  • Build a clinical talent pipeline for our care model. Hire, supervise, onboard, and lead a team of clinical experts (e.g. Neurologists, Geriatricians, NP, Care Navigators, RNs, LCSW, Pharmacists ) to ensure that Remo’s clinicians deliver high value, empathetic care.

  • Direct the development of clinical protocols and ensure all telehealth services meet (and exceed) strict regulatory and compliance standards across all operating states.

Leadership Thought and Vision

  • Elevate Remo’s presence as a national leader in dementia care by spearheading our clinical thought leadership. You will represent the company at key industry conferences and author insights on the intersection of technology and dementia care delivery.

  • Define how we incorporate the disciplines of geriatrics and palliative care in our care model to deliver the highest quality care and best possible experience to the dyads we serve.

Teaching & Team Building:

  • Develop a cohesive remote team culture by fostering deep clinical trust across a remote-first team.

  • Build and maintain a continuous learning culture through educational programs rooted in the latest science of dementia care.

You May Be a Good Fit If You

  • Are a Board Certified Geriatrician, Neurologist, or Internal Medicine Physician with experience caring for older adults with cognitive disorders.

  • Have an active medical license in at least one state without restrictions. Multi-state licenses preferred.

  • Have 5+ years of clinical practice, including a minimum of 2 years in a clinical leadership role within a high-growth startup or digital health environment.

  • Excel at communication in a remote first environment, embrace asynchronous tools (Slack, Notion, Loom, etc) and foster a remote culture with warmth and clarity.

  • Have a deep understanding of dementia and geriatrics, with familiarity with CMS GUIDE model or similar value-based care frameworks.

  • Have proven experience transitioning clinical workflows into modern digital delivery models that effectively serve our patients and caregivers.

  • Are a proven cross-functional collaborator with Product, Technology, Marketing, Growth, Clinical/People Operations, and Finance.

You May Be The Ideal Fit If You

  • Have an active, unrestricted license in OH, WA, OR, or CA.

  • Certified Medical Director (CMD).

  • ACGME-accredited Geriatric Medicine fellowships, and specialized training in age-friendly care.
