Role Description

We’re seeking a Mechanical Designer II who’s ready to take the next step in their career by building smarter, more sustainable systems for the industrial and logistics sector. This role can be remote within the continental U.S.

• Support the creation of small to mid-sized facility designs or portions of large programs, including warehouse, fulfillment, industrial, and manufacturing buildings.
• Provide HVAC and plumbing systems design — from early schematic development to final construction documents and through construction administration.
• Work closely with an integrated team of in-house architects, structural and electrical engineers, and internal team leads to ensure fully coordinated project documents.
• Support the mechanical engineer of record by responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and supporting construction administration for projects.

• Education: BSME or equivalent experience
• Management Requirements: 0-3 staff
• Licensure Requirements: None required

Requirements

• Work with Mechanical Engineer and/or Mechanical Design lead to communicate with clients, deliver completed construction documents, and assist in construction administration as required for most project types.
• Utilize education and experience to independently develop, implement, and draft construction documents for most project and/or project type, as well as solve medium to difficult design challenges.
• Able to apply knowledge gained through experience and knowledge of recognized national standards to simple projects, with minimal oversight.
• Thorough knowledge of software assisting programs, such as Trane Trace, and able to apply throughout the design process.
• Basic understanding of energy codes and how it impacts design.
• Able to design and draft domestic water, sewer, and natural gas piping systems, including riser diagrams, for small to medium projects.
