Role Description
The New Business Case Manager will take ownership of each assigned life insurance application and act as liaison between proposed insured(s), underwriters, general agents, and vendors to facilitate the underwriting and new business process for each application by obtaining any outstanding requirements needed.
- Review and verify completeness of applications and related documents to ensure accurate data entry, regulatory & legal compliance, and approval of all life insurance policy contracts.
- Accurately enter data related to the application into a variety of system platforms to document case activity and any other relevant information (e.g. special handling/requests, conversation notes, etc.) to ensure accurate processing and approval of all life insurance policy contracts.
- Accurately decipher documents, notes, and correspondence for additional/anecdotal information to ensure accurate processing and approval of all life insurance policy contracts.
- Provide accurate, prompt and professional service to all inquiries received by phone or in writing, minimizing referrals to the underwriter, while maintaining departmental standards and time service standards.
- Correspond effectively, using proper grammar and spelling, within the department, underwriting staff, vendors, and other Administrative Service departments to assist in resolving problems, expedite business, and/or escalate for further handling.
- Effectively communicate New Business policies, procedures, and guidelines to internal and external customers.
- Take ownership of cases and consistently review to identify opportunities to improve the customer experience including cycle time and placement ratio.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of reports including by not limited to task completion (i.e. productivity), time cards, and other goals and objectives as assigned.
- Process all other duties as assigned by department management.
Qualifications
- Some college preferred
- LOMA-ACS 100 preferred
- Basic knowledge of medical conditions and terminology
- 3+ years experience in a customer service related position with telephone experience
- 6+ months experience as a New Business Assistant Case Manager, or comparable experience
- Life, Property and Casualty or Health insurance experience preferred
- Excellent time management and interpersonal and communication skills
- Detail oriented and high tolerance for repetitive tasks
- Typing 40+ WPM
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Flexible to work overtime on occasion to meet business needs, strongly preferred
- Ability to telecommute from primary residence
- DSL connections with available internet speed of 50 download Mbps and 10 upload Mbps
- Must be within commutable distance from the corporate office
Benefits
- The expected hiring compensation range for this position is $48,500 - $58,200 annually.
- This is a remote opportunity working from 9:30AM to 6PM EST.
- The total compensation package for this position may include other elements, such as a sign-on bonus, long term incentives, and annual bonuses.
- This role is eligible to participate in the Annual Incentive Plan with a current target payment of 3% of base salary, modified for corporate and individual performance.
- Bonuses are pro-rated based on start date.
- This role has 10 vacation days and 10 sick days that are accrued on a bi-weekly basis.
- Employees also have 9 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
