We’re a small, tight-knit team working to clean up the global food supply, provide healthy food to everyone, and build Don’t Die into the most influential ideology in the world. We move quickly, work efficiently, and enjoy an environment defined by competence.

The Senior Director of Quality Assurance will lead and oversee the company’s end-to-end quality function across our portfolio of food and dietary supplement products manufactured through third-party partners. Reporting to the COO, this role is responsible for building, maintaining, and continuously improving the company’s quality systems to ensure regulatory compliance, product integrity, and operational excellence. The position will serve as the strategic owner of quality across commercialization, manufacturing oversight, and internal quality infrastructure, ensuring that all contract manufacturing partners meet the company’s standards while enabling efficient scaling of the business.

Job Requirements

  • Position Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the company’s quality systems, including SOPs, documentation control, change management, deviation management, CAPA processes, and internal quality governance to ensure regulatory compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Oversee product quality across the lifecycle, supporting product commercialization, specification management, raw material and finished product quality standards, and collaboration with R&D, operations, and supply chain teams.
  • Manage and evaluate third-party manufacturing partners, including qualification, auditing, ongoing performance monitoring, and quality issue resolution to ensure adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and monitor quality metrics and reporting, establishing KPIs and dashboards to track quality performance across products, suppliers, and manufacturing partners, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Build and lead the company’s quality team, establishing clear processes, organizing quality data and documentation, and scaling the function to support company growth.
  • Serve as the internal quality authority, partnering cross-functionally to ensure quality considerations are integrated into product development, commercialization, supply chain decisions, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Basic Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in quality leadership within the food, dietary supplement, or CPG manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of cGMP, FDA regulations, and quality standards relevant to food and dietary supplements (e.g., 21 CFR Part 111 and/or 117).
  • Experience managing quality programs in a contract manufacturing environment with multiple external production partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage quality systems, documentation frameworks, and compliance processes.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and working cross-functionally with operations, R&D, regulatory, and supply chain.
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Experience scaling quality functions in high-growth or asset-light manufacturing companies that rely on contract manufacturers.
  • Background in supplier qualification, auditing programs, and third-party manufacturing oversight.
  • Experience implementing quality metrics systems, dashboards, and data organization frameworks.
  • Familiarity with food safety programs (HACCP, FSMA, preventive controls) and dietary supplement regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong project management and process improvement experience, including implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
