Role Description

As the Director, Institutional Thought Leadership on the Workplace team, you’ll play a pivotal role in raising awareness of our services by crafting content on a broad range of topics that engage plan sponsors, investment consultants, and recordkeepers.

In addition to an earnest desire to help people, we are looking for the ideal candidate to complement the team’s existing talents. For this Director, Institutional Thought Leadership role, we are seeking a teammate with diverse understanding of and curiosity for a wide range of financial topics and the ability to communicate them cogently to different audiences.

  • Synthesize internal EFE retirement plan data with external industry trends, data, and insights into well-developed, commercially viable content, owning the process from draft stage to distribution.
  • Partner closely with EFE’s Investment Management, Sponsor Engagement, Sales, Product, and Data teams to identify insights, gather data, and jointly pursue opportunities for content creation.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Communications to identify and implement content and thought leadership platforms that drive broader awareness and coverage.
  • Develop short, medium, and long-form content that will be provided tactically to EFE’s sales and relationship management teams for use in client engagements.
  • Execute against content deliverables within strategic EFE workstreams related to modernizing the Workplace value proposition and unique positioning the firm within growing trends (e.g. the rise of private assets in 401ks).
  • Build and implement a publishing calendar and produce materials that can be understood by a wide range of target audiences.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of financial services experience with a deep passion for a wide range of financial and corporate/employee benefits topics (e.g. defined contribution plans, advisory services, alternative investments, employer/employee financial benefits, retirement trends, investment strategy, asset classes, etc.)
  • Self-directed content creation capabilities.
  • Exceptional storytelling, writing and messaging skills – able to craft clear, compelling content and deliver drafts in multiple modalities (two-pagers, meeting slides, webinars, etc.) that are well-developed and ready for refinement.
  • A team-oriented and highly collaborative approach – you produce your best work when it’s informed by diverse insights, ideas, and contributions from others.

  • Self-directed content creation capabilities.
  • Exceptional storytelling, writing and messaging skills.

Benefits

  • The expected base salary range for this role nationally is $142,000 - $189,400.
  • Final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, job-related skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions.
  • This role may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans, and 401(k) contributions.
