Role Description
Serena & Lily is seeking an Accounting Manager with Retail and eCommerce industry experience. This is a contract position that will last 6 months. The ideal candidate should be goal oriented, service minded, and have experience in various aspects of accounting including but not limited to:
- Revenue recognition
- COGs and inventory
- Accruals
- Capital and operating leases
- Payroll
- Month end close
The position will report to the Controller.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with various organizations within the Company to drive the accounting close process and OPEX trend analysis
- Be responsible for accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures for certain key balance sheet and income statement accounts (including preparing and/or reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations)
- Review Revenue/Cost of Goods trend monthly/quarterly and explain flux
- Analyze expenses and expense accruals to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis
- Maintain lease schedules for property and equipment, tracking lease deposits, scheduled rent, and capital leases
- Maintain weekly cash payout and assist with resolving discrepancies with vendors
- Manage AR, fraud/chargebacks, and collections
- Run company payroll bi-weekly and manage ADP/benefit issues with HR
- Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and minimum of 5 years prior experience managing high volume eCommerce business with retail stores, EDI transactions, and COGS accounting
- Strong analytical and organization skills, with strong attention to detail
- Appropriate sense of urgency to complete tasks according to team schedule
- Proficient with technology and systems. Capable of mastering various technology platforms as a power user: e.g., ERP, AP/expense management systems, order management systems, online banking
- Advanced Excel and data management skills: e.g., pivot tables, V-lookups, etc.
- Strong communication, documentation and presentation skills
- NetSuite experience preferred
- Ability to work independently, in a fast-paced environment, with various functional groups
Compensation
- $60-65/hr
- This is a 6 month contract position
