Job Summary
The Data Governance Analyst (Workday) is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and governance of HR and Payroll data within HR systems, with a strong focus on SOX compliance, audit readiness, and reporting controls. This individual serves as a liaison between HR Shared Services (HRSS), HR Technology, Internal Audit, Finance, Payroll, and IT, translating regulatory and audit requirements into sustainable controls, reports, and data governance practices across the global HR technology portfolio.Job Description
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Data Governance & Controls
- Design and maintain HR data governance standards within HR systems including Workday and UKG.
- Define data ownership, data definitions, and control documentation for HR data.
- Monitor data quality, completeness, and consistency across Workday modules.
- Partner with HR, Payroll, and Finance to resolve data integrity issues.
- Support governance forums and decision-making related to HR data standards.
SOX Compliance & Audit Support
- Support SOX control design, documentation, and testing related to HR Systems.
- Develop and Evaluate Workday reports used as key controls or audit evidence.
- Perform walkthroughs and control assessments for HR and HRSS processes.
- Prepare audit documentation and remediation plans with Internal Audit.
- Track audit findings and corrective actions.
Workday Reporting & Security
- Develop and validate Workday reports including Advanced, Composite, and Dashboards.
- Review calculated fields, data sources, and business process frameworks.
- Partner with Security Administrators to validate role-based access and segregation of duties.
- Reconcile Workday outputs with downstream systems.
- Support report standardization to reduce audit risk.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Serve as HR Systems/HRSS point of contact for audits and compliance activities.
- Partner with Internal Audit, Finance, Payroll, IT, and external auditors.
- Provide guidance on audit readiness and data governance expectations.
- Support HRIS initiatives related to control automation and reporting optimization.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Work Experience
- 2+ years of experience in HRIS, audit, compliance, or data governance.
- Hands-on experience supporting SOX compliance.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Workday reporting and data validation experience.
- Knowledge of HR and Payroll processes and their impact on financial reporting.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in a SOX-regulated or public company environment with items like User Access Reviews, Change Reviews, and other reoccurring audit items.
- Experience partnering with Internal or External Audit.
- Familiarity with COSO or other internal control frameworks.
- Workday certifications

The anticipated salary range for this position:
$67,000.00 - $101,000.00 AnnualThe actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
