Role Description
We are seeking a skilled Remote Medical Coder to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Remote Medical Coder, you will be responsible for accurately assigning medical codes to patient records, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations. This is a remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home.
- Review and accurately assign medical codes to patient records using ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
- Ensure all codes are in compliance with coding guidelines and regulations
- Work closely with healthcare providers to clarify any coding discrepancies
- Maintain a thorough understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnoses
- Keep up-to-date with changes in coding guidelines and regulations
- Meet productivity and quality standards set by the company
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of medical coding experience, preferably in a chiropractic setting
- Proficient in ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Comfortable working remotely and using electronic medical records systems
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
Contract Details
This is a part-time, remote position with flexible hours. The contract will be for an initial period of 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance.
