About the Role: Intern, Accounting Avivo serves nearly 15,000 individuals each year as they work toward recovery, housing stability, and economic advancement. As our Intern, Accounting, you will gain hands‑on experience across a wide range of accounting functions while contributing to meaningful work that supports our mission. This is a fully remote position; however, candidates must reside in the state of Minnesota for payroll and tax purposes. You’ll work closely with the Assistant Controller & Director of Revenue Accounting, AP Accountant, Staff Accountant, and members of the Billing team. Your work will support accurate financial processes, strengthen internal controls, and ensure timely and precise billing. This internship is 32 hours per week, paid at $20/hour, with scheduling coordinated around your academic commitments. What You Will Do Post financial transactions using accounting software. Help manage gift card inventory and distribution. Enter fixed assets into the accounting system. Support data entry and financial records maintenance. Assist with month‑end closing processes. Support the Service Authorization Billing Process. Assist the Controller, Accounting Services with ad‑hoc requests and projects. QualificationsWhat You Bring Education & Experience Currently enrolled in an accredited program, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field. Experience working as part of a team. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic knowledge of general accounting practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and comfort with accounting systems. Ability to plan, prioritize, and meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills and a customer‑service mindset. Ability to collaborate with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
