What You'll Do:

The Human Resources (HR) Specialist administers a wide range of human resources processes and supports the delivery of services across all areas of the HR department. From onboarding new colleagues through the termination process, the HR Specialist guides employees through HR procedures, responds to policy-related questions, and supports the execution and coordination of HR work across multiple HR teams. This role is responsible for managing key HR functions, including recruitment and interview support, employee relations, and ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws.

 

  • Employee Relations: Address colleague concerns, mediate conflicts, and foster a positive workplace environment. Escalate matters when issues become highly complex or involve legal considerations.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies. Provide support to the HR team on compensation-related activities, including explaining compensation practices to employees and supervisors and assisting with market benchmarking to support job development and hiring decisions.
  • Policy Development: Create and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Training and Development: Coordinate training programs for employee development and performance improvement.
  • Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate employee records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Audit and Reconciliation within HR: Help support and perform suiting functions under any of the areas of Human Resources
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as needed and assist in managing and delivering HR projects.

What We Need From You:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in HR or a related field preferred, with an emphasis on recruitment and employee relations.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills; experience with Paylocity or other HRIS platforms preferred.
