Job Description
The successful candidate must be adept in data management, logistics, and operations, be excited about opportunities to learn and grow in their career and be able to execute various projects at a time. This position will report to the Permit Manager and represents an opportunity to join an excellent team on the ground floor and learn a lot as GRC grows!
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Permit Coordinator is responsible for the tracking, submittals, communication, presentation, feasibility study, and research of all aerial / UG ROW permitting associated with fiber optic utility installation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare, submit, and track permit applications
- Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure compliance with all permitting requirements.
- Review project plans and specifications to identify permitting needs and potential challenges.
- Maintain accurate records of permit statuses, deadlines, and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with permit managers, project managers, engineers, and clients to provide updates on permit progress.
- Resolve permitting issues and escalations in a timely manner to avoid project delays.
- Stay current on regulatory changes and industry standards related to telecommunications and environmental permitting.
- Assist in preparing reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of permitting experience in telecommunications construction, specifically in:
- Right of Way, Easement, Encroachment, FTTx Permitting
- Long Haul
- Cell Tower Infrastructure/Microwave
- Railroad
- Environmental
- GIS Mapping
- Strong understanding of local, state, and federal permitting processes and regulations.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and permitting software/tools.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with regulatory agencies and project teams.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and technical documents.
- Ability to track permits via Verofy & have knowledge of GIS systems
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field is preferred but not required.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Knowledge of GIS software and mapping tools for permitting purposes
- Plant Map/Maintenance
- Experience working with utility companies and municipalities.
Requirements:
- A valid driver's license is required for all positions.
- Travel is required to support projects (approx. 10%).
Employment Details
- Job Type: Full Time
- Location: Remote in (Denver, CO)
- Reporting to: Permit Manager
- Compensation range: $60,000 - $75,000 + 10% bonus
- Target start date: 2-3 weeks from offer
