Role Description
ICF is seeking a well-organized and detail-oriented Public Health Research Scientist candidate with administrative, research, evaluation, or grants management experience to support several federal or state government public health and behavioral health evaluation, data collection, and grants management projects.
- Perform routine data management tasks (data cleaning, data processing).
- Perform data validations/quality assurance, including conversations with survey respondents to ensure data are correct.
- Assist teams in developing reports, manuscripts, briefing materials, etc.
- Support qualitative data collection and analysis (conduct interviews, assist in coding data).

Contribute to the development of:
- Data management and data analysis plans;
- Procedures for data collection;
- Written or visual reports (dashboards, infographics);
- Proposal or grant submissions, including but not limited to technical writing.
Qualifications
- Masters Degree in public health, public administration, business administration, health policy, data analytics, economics, or related field preferred.
- Alternatively, Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 2 years of experience supporting administrative, analytical, or program coordination functions, preferably within public-sector, healthcare, or grant-funded environments.
- Expert in Microsoft Office 365 and Windows, including experience using Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with/interview professionals or members of the public for data collection and data quality improvement.
Requirements
- Professional or educational experience in behavioral health (mental health or substance use treatment or prevention).
- Experience with data management using a statistical package (e.g., SPSS, R, Stata, SAS).
- Experience with qualitative data analysis software.
- Experience with program evaluation.
- Experience with grant compliance/monitoring.
